Private Music Lessons
When I am not writing or performing in New York City I am most likely sharing my love for music with children anywhere from the young beginner to the advanced player. As a New York University graduate with a B.A. in Songwriting and Recorded Music, my goal is to provide your child with creative, engaging and fun ways to learn about and to be exposed to music. From structured private lessons in Piano, Guitar and Voice to activities like learning how to play your child's favorite song on the guitar or piano, to sing-a-long songs, to even writing their own songs--your child's inner musician and songwriter is simply waiting to be discovered!
Why I Love Working With Kids
Having the opportunity to be an influential part of a child's early musical experiences is a responsibility I hold highly and am grateful to do daily. Instilling values for art and music in little ones and nurturing their innate creative and musical selves brings so much fulfillment into my life as a professional musician and singer-songwriter.
Where do you teach and how long are lessons?
I teach in the Greater NYC area and provide private in-home lessons either 30/45/60 minutes long depending on the age of your child, their level, and instrument of choice.
What is your teaching philosophy?
As a classically trained pianist and vocalist, my teaching method revolves around ensuring that your child learns the foundations of music theory on their instrument of choice. With that being said, as a professional Singer-songwriter I also encourage my students to apply those music theory concepts in an engaging, creative and fun way either by learning their most loved songs on the Radio or by writing their own! My teaching philosophy is all about the blending of the classical and contemporary to create an overall well rounded and talented musician.

"We've had the pleasure of working with Martina for the past 3 years, on both the guitar and piano/keyboard. My daughters, 5 and 7, look forward to their lessons every week! Not only is Martina extremely talented and professional, she is consistently kind, patient and encouraging with both girls before, after and during their lessons. We hope to work with Martina for a very long time and highly recommend her!" -- Sara R. (Parent)
"Martina is really nice. I'm happy when it's Wednesday because that's when Martina comes over and we practice scales, and we get to record and listen to our duets." -- Nye T. (Piano Student)
